Spencer Howard Recalled Ahead Of Tuesday's Start
2 years agoThe Texas Rangers have recalled right-hander Spencer Howard from Triple-A. He will be the team's starting pitcher for Tuesday night's game against the Baltimore Orioles. In a corresponding move, fellow right-hander Josh Sborz was sent to Triple-A. Howard has struggled over his three appearances in the majors so far this year. Over 6.2 innings, he's allowed 10 hits, two walks and nine earn runs while striking out 12. On the bright side, he pitched well at Triple-A in June, posting a 2.53 ERA an a 0.94 WHIP over 32 innings. We'll see if he can carry that success over to the majors.
