Sonny Gray Takes Loss In Return To Rotation
6 years agoPerhaps with an eye toward the American League wild-card game, the New York Yankees re-inserted Sonny Gray into the starting rotation in a possible attempt to line up their rotation just right for three weeks from now. Gray, who's had a season to forget, only lasted three innings Tuesday night, surrendering three runs, all coming in the third. While the majority of his club's 10 runs allowed came after he exited the game, Gray was charged with his ninth defeat of the season. This should once and for all settle his role with the 2018 Yankees, as he clearly doesn't have a place in the rotation anymore.
