Sonny Gray Has Calf Contusion
6 years agoUpdating a previous report, Cincinnati Reds starting pitcher Sonny Gray was removed from his start early on Thursday against the Marlins after suffering a left calf contusion on a comebacker that struck him in the leg. Gray managed to go four scoreless innings with six strikeouts, continuing to turn heads in fantasy leagues after many owners decided to avoid him altogether in his first season in Cincinnati. It doesn't sound like a serious injury, but it remains to be seen if he'll be able to make his next start. It won't be all roses for Gray likes it's been in his first three starts all season, though, so keep your expectations tempered the rest of the way.
