Sonny Gray Goes Eight Strong In Victory
7 years agoSeeking a series victory over the Kansas City Royals, the New York Yankees sent Sonny Gray to the mound Sunday afternoon and he did more than deliver. The 28-year-old went a season-long eight innings, conceding just one run on four hits, with only one walk and five strikeouts. Gray tossed only 92 pitches in the performance, easily coasting to victory as his offense provided 10 runs of support. After struggling in April, the right-hander has turned a corner in three starts this month, posting a more acceptable 3.78 ERA, while his victory moved his record to 3-3 on the season.
