Signs Point To "No" For David Lipsky In Detroit
1 year agoTwo consecutive top-16 finishes at the Charles Schwab and the Memorial Tournament about a month ago brought some attention to David Lipsky's form. But it's been downhill since then. The 34-year-old missed the cut at the RBC Canadian Open, losing over five strokes putting. He then lost three strokes tee-to-green en route to a 56th-place finish at the Travelers Championship last week. Surely the putting in Toronto was an outlier for the LA native, but the struggles off the tee and around the green are more discouraging than anything else. After struggling with fairly easy tracks the last two times out, it's tough to imagine Lipsky finding his way into the top 50 in Detroit this week in what should be a bit of a birdie-fest.
