Shortstop Prospect Rafael Ramirez Traded To Nationals
4 months agoThe Cleveland Guardians traded shortstop prospect Rafael Ramirez to the Washington Nationals in a trade that sent outfielder Lane Thomas to Cleveland on Monday night. Ramirez is 19 years old and slots into the Nationals' top prospects list at No. 23. He will begin at Single-A Fredericksburg. Ramirez has struggled a bit at Single-A this season, hitting just .187 for Lynchburg this season with four homers and 23 RBI. It is his first taste of Single-A so the low average as he adjusts is somewhat understandable. He profiles as more of a defense and speed prospect with a 45-grade hit tool and 45-grade power. He will look to adjust to a new team and improve his performance at Single-A in the Nationals system.
