Shohei Ohtani Up To 100 Feet In Throwing Program
5 years agoLos Angeles Angels designated hitter/starting pitcher Shohei Ohtani (elbow, knee) is up to 100 feet in his throwing program and is on track to get on a mound in late November. The Japanese star had knee surgery in September. Ohtani is also working his way back from Tommy John surgery. He was only used as a hitter in 2019 because of that, although he's expected to jump back in the Halos rotation and be a front-line starter in 2020. The 25-year-old is much more valuable in fantasy because of his arm -- he had a 3.31 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 11.0 K/9 in 10 starts in his rookie season -- but he's still plenty useful for his power/speed combination at the plate.
