6 years agoLos Angeles Angels starting pitcher/designated hitter Shohei Ohtani (elbow) continues to make progress from Tommy John surgery and said on Saturday that he thinks he could start taking batting practice in around a week. The two-way star has been throwing three times a week since March 8 and has been doing soft-toss drills since March 1. The Japanese right-hander has been throwing from out to 50 feet but at low intensity. Despite the fact that he won't pitch at all in 2019 and won't be the DH until sometime in May, Ohtani is worth stashing in all leagues for his power and speed at the plate.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
