Shelby Miller Agrees With Rangers
6 years agoThe Texas Rangers agreed to a one-year deal with free-agent starting pitcher Shelby Miller on Wednesday. League sources confirmed to ESPN's Jeff Passan that the deal is worth $2 million with performance bonuses that could bring it up to $5 million. The 28-year-old right-hander dealt with injuries in his three seasons with the Diamondbacks and also had Tommy John surgery. Since 2016, Miller has thrown just 139 innings, going 5-18 with an ugly 6.35 ERA. If Miller is healthy in 2019, he could bounce back, but he's a huge risk to fantasy owners and is in a bad environment to rebound.
