Shane Bieber Sharp In Thursday’s Win
2 years agoCleveland Guardians starting pitcher Shane Bieber was sharp on Thursday as his club defeated the White Sox 4-2. He gave up two runs on seven hits over 7 2/3 IP while striking out five and walking nobody to take his record to 12-8 on the campaign. Bieber gave up a run in the first when Eloy Jimenez singled in a run, but didn't allow another until Gavin Sheets led off the eighth with a solo homer as he retired 13 batters in a row at one point. The 27-year-old has put together a productive season with a 2.81 ERA, 1.03 WHIP, and a 189/35 K/BB through 189 IP as he looks ahead to his next start versus the Rays.
