Shane Bieber Building Up To Throwing
3 years agoCleveland Indians starting pitcher Shane Bieber (shoulder) was on the field on Tuesday and performed "about 100 dry runs of his delivery," according to Ryan Lewis of the Akron Beacon Journal. It was the first sign of action from Bieber after being placed on the injured list two weeks ago with a right shoulder strain, as manager Terry Francona said, "It's just another step, but he said he got to feel the dirt and he was kind of revved up about that." Initial reports had said that Bieber would be shut down for two weeks before being re-evaluated, and assuming there's no issue from Tuesday's dry runs, we could see Bieber start throwing again by the beginning of next week. Assuming no setbacks, it seems like fantasy managers can plan for Bieber to return to action sometime shortly after the All-Star break.
