Shane Baz Throws Four Scoreless Innings At Triple-A
2 years agoTampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Shane Baz (elbow) made his third and longest rehab start yet at Triple-A Durham on Monday. He pitched four scoreless innings, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out four. Across his three rehab outings, Baz has pitched to a 1.04 ERA and a 0.91 WHIP. Baz underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right elbow this spring and has been working his way back ever since. The 22-year-old looked great in his first taste of the majors last year, pitching to a 2.03 ERA and a 0.68 WHIP over 13.1 innings. He's worthy of stashing on an IL spot in just about all fantasy leagues. His exact timeline isn't entirely clear, but he may only need one or two more rehab starts before joining the Rays once again.
