Shaky Seranthony Dominguez Earns Save
6 years agoWith the Philadelphia Phillies clinging to a one-run lead against the Baltimore Orioles late Tuesday night, Seranthony Dominguez was called on for a four-out save. The 23-year-old, who stormed onto the scene by not allowing a run through his first 12 appearances, has settled into the season after allowing some runs and bouncing back. Since the end of May, he’s become the main closer on the squad and began his Tuesday appearance tossing two wild pitches, moving the tying run to third. Additionally, he walked the two ensuing batters to load the bases, but he managed to induce a groundout to escape with the lead intact. In the ninth inning he was more complete, recording a pair of strikeouts to secure the save. If June wasn’t enough of a signal, Dominguez should be a very attractive fantasy player, as he seems poised for save opportunities every night.
