Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Struggles In Play-In Loss
2 years agoOklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander couldn't wheel his team into the 2023 NBA playoffs, shooting only 5-for-19 from the field in Friday's 120-95 loss to Minnesota. He still led the squad with 22 points, and Gilgeous-Alexander's all-around work was very impressive, as he finished with seven rebounds, three assists, one steal and three blocks, but the team managed to be competitive only in the first quarter. Gilgeous-Alexander's performance was likely also impacted by an injury, as he took an inadvertent elbow to the face from Rudy Gobert early in the second half. It was a disappointing finish to the campaign, but Gilgeous-Alexander had a spectacular year, and as a player who turns just 25 in the offseason, he can definitely get even better.
