Seth Romero Being Stretched Out In Camp
4 years agoWashington Nationals left-hander Seth Romero, the team's No. 7 prospect per MLB Pipeline, will throw a live batting practice session on Tuesday. The goal is for Romero to get stretched out as a potential starter this spring, but he could also be used as a multi-inning reliever, if needed. The 24-year-old made his major league debut last season, appearing in just 2 2/3 relief innings in three games before breaking his right hand in late August. "I watch him now -- he's throwing the ball really, really well," manager Dave Martinez said. "But he's a young kid that hasn't pitched that much. We've got to get him stretched out and get him confident, and we'll see where it goes from there." For now, the 24-year-old southpaw is just one to keep on your radar in keeper leagues.
