Seth Lugo Completes Sim Game Thursday
1 year agoBefore the first pitch of Thursday's matchup with the Cleveland Guardians, San Diego Padres starter Seth Lugo (calf) pitched in a simulated game, tossing 57 pitches over three innings. There's now a chance that the right-hander could return to the rotation next week when the club travels to San Francisco without making a rehab start. Lugo's been on the injured list since straining his left calf during his last start on May 16. Before the ailment, he pitched to a 4.10 ERA, 1.37 WHIP, and 21.3% strikeout rate across 41.2 innings of work. When Lugo does return, it'll likely push Ryan Weathers out of the rotation. The 23-year-old has almost no relevance in fantasy baseball, as he owns a 6.08 ERA with just 27 punchouts over 40 innings.
