Sergio Romo Finishes Off Team Shutout Of The Mets Saturday
6 years agoTampa Bay Rays reliever Sergio Romo closed out the Mets Saturday. He would retire everyone he faced to finish off the 3-0 victory. Romo now had nine saves despite spending time in various other roles this season. He doesn't have the same stuff he did earlier in his career but he is getting the job done lately. Right now, he has value in most leagues that reward saves but there is risk attached with him. First of all, the Rays are most likely to be sellers during the mid-season with plenty of teams looking for bullpen help. If he gets traded, there is a real chance he would not be the closer for the new team. Even if he stays with the Rays, young pitchers like Jose Alvarado could be given the chance to be the closer to gain experience for the future.
