Sergio Romo Blows Save Thursday Versus Toronto
6 years agoTampa Bay Rays relief pitcher Sergio Romo was the last pitcher on the mound Thursday versus the Blue Jays in a major comeback loss. The Rays were up 8-2 going into the bottom of the ninth. Reliever Jaime Schultz would get rocked while getting only one out while being credited with four runs allowed. Romo would be brought in and also would only record one out. The Blue Jays would record three hits off Romo, including back-to-back homers that ended the game. Romo has earned 22 saves but this would be his eighth blown save. As long as Romo retains the closer role, he is fantasy relevant.
