4 years agoNew York Islanders goaltender Semyon Varlamov will man the crease as his team hosts the visiting Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday night. The 32-year-old is fresh off an immaculate performance on Monday in which he stopped all 30 shots faced in a 2-0 victory over the New York Rangers. Off to a tremendous start in 2020-2021, Varlamov has posted five wins, a 1.87 goals-against average, a .932 save percentage and three shutouts in eight starts. He should be treated as a top-tier netminder playing behind a very defensive-minded Islanders team and should be started each night he gets the nod.--Chase Davis - RotoBaller
