4 months agoWith the 15th pick in the 2024 MLB Draft, the Seattle Mariners have selected switch-pitcher Jurrangelo Cijntje out of Mississippi State. Cjintje mainly throws right-hander, but the 21-year-old is talented enough to also through left-handed as scouts project him as more successful throwing right-handed. Cijntje not only is a fun story, but the real deal on the mound as he was 8-2 with a 3.67 ERA and 113 strikeouts over 90 2/3 innings for the Bulldogs. Cijntje clocks his fastball in the mid-90s with a high of 98 MPH from the right side, while throwing with a little less velocity with his left arm. Many compare his build at 5'11 to Marcus Stroman and the Mariners would have to be happy if he reached that potential down the road.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
