Sean Reid-Foley Nearing A Return
3 months agoNew York Mets right-hander Sean Reid-Foley (shoulder) walked three of the five batters he faced in his minor-league rehab outing for Double-A Binghamton on Sunday, throwing 25 pitches while recording a strikeout. Reid-Foley was set to check in with the team's medical staff in New York on Monday before being dispatched on another rehab outing later in the week. Manager Carlos Mendoza said that Reid-Foley's readiness to return to the big-league club will partly depend on his performance with Binghamton. "We want to see how the ball is coming out of his hand and how he's going to bounce back," Mendoza said. "We're going to need him when he gets here to go back-to-back [days] and one-plus [innings]." The 28-year-old had an impressive 1.66 ERA and 1.25 WHIP with 25 K's but also 14 walks in 21 2/3 innings of relief for the Mets before suffering a right-shoulder impingement.
