5 years agoAtlanta Braves pitcher Sean Newcomb will return to the starting rotation in place of Kevin Gausman (foot) and pitch against the Phillies on Saturday. Newcomb pitched 4 2/3 solid innings in relief of an ineffective Gausman on Monday against the Pirates. However, Saturday's start might just be a spot start for Newcomb with Dallas Keuchel on the horizon. Newcomb has a 1.42 ERA and just two walks in 19 innings since coming back from Triple-A Gwinnett. The left-hander didn't do well in his three starts before his demotion, and his lack of control was the biggest factor. Newcomb has upside if he's throwing strikes, but the matchup also won't be the easiest. He's still worth considering as a streamer in deeper leagues this weekend.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
