Sean Murphy Hits Clutch Homer Monday
5 months agoAtlanta Braves catcher Sean Murphy played a big part in Monday's 5-4 extra-inning win over the Diamondbacks. Murphy went 2-for-4 with a single, a two-run home run, and a strikeout. The 29-year-old took Paul Sewald deep to right-center field in the top of the ninth inning with two outs to tie things up. Despite the heroics, Murphy has not been the fantasy contributor fantasy managers were hoping for this season, slashing .224/.290/.408 with five HR, eight runs scored, and 11 RBI in 107 plate appearances. He is currently rostered in 70 percent of leagues and is a must-roster in all two-catcher leagues, but fantasy managers in shallower one-catcher leagues can likely find a hotter option on the waiver wire.
