Montreal Canadiens center Sean Monahan collected two assists during his emotional return to Calgary on Thursday. He helped the team to a 2-1 victory by setting up Juraj Slafkovsky and Cole Caufield. Monahan skated his first nine years in the league for the Flames, posting 462 points in 656 games. Calgary dumped him via a trade in the summer after Monahan had a disappointing 23-point campaign. He's on his way to having a decent bounce-back season in Montreal. The 28-year-old reached 16 points for the year on Thursday, and he's nicely set up for further success, with Monahan occupying a spot on the top power-play unit and averaging close to 18 minutes of ice time per game.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
