Sean Manaea Struggles In Boston

Oakland Athletics starting pitcher Sean Manaea was lit up in Boston on Thursday, serving up seven earned runs in Oakland's 8-1 loss against the Red Sox. The southpaw was hit early and often in Beantown, as he allowed three runs in the first inning, capped by a Xander Bogaerts two-run home run. Manaea then proceeded to allow three more runs in the second inning, including another two-run homer, this time by Bobby Dalbec. The book closed on Manaea when Deolis Guerra allowed Christian Vazquez to score on a Jonathan Arauz double-play ball. Manaea saw his ERA (3.07) and WHIP (1.07) jump up to a 4.40 and 1.28, respectively. It's an awful performance when that type of spike happens in the eighth start of the season. Look for this southpaw to put up a better outing when he faces the Astros at home in his next performance.
