Seahawks Considering Everson Griffen
5 years agoThe Seattle Seahawks could choose to sign defensive end Everson Griffen as a fallback option to Jadeveon Clowney, who is seeking around $20 million per season on the open market. Head coach Pete Carroll coached Griffen at USC, and the team's top priority this offseason was to improve their pass rush. Only the Dolphins had fewer sacks as a team in 2019. The Seahawks are believed to be offering Clowney $18.5 million per season, so he might have to re-sign with Seattle if he doesn't get another offer to his liking. Griffen would come cheaper and likely for one or two years at the most. Griffen has double-digit sack seasons, something Clowney hasn't done, and has stayed healthy in his career unlike Clowney. Both Griffen and Clowney are excellent pass-rushers worthy of rostering in IDP leagues when they're healthy, of course.
