Scott Oberg Makes History
Scott Oberg was supposed to be the key to ending the historic run of walk-off home runs by Dodgers rookies, but instead, he simply added his name to the record books. After two straight nights of walk-offs when other relievers were in, the solution was obvious. Send out Oberg, the team's best reliever. It wasn't meant to be though. Oberg pitched the ninth inning on Sunday in a tied game, and he too fell victim to a Dodgers rookie. This time, rookie catcher Will Smith lofted a drive out past the right-center wall with two runners on to finish off Colorado. Oberg has been the team's most effective reliever all season, so this is likely just a hiccough, but it's an infamous one now since no team had ever allowed walk-off home runs to rookies in back-to-back games before this weekend. Three in a row will certainly be hard to beat.

Scott Oberg Could Retire
Scott Oberg (elbow) has not been playing catch, and the concept of attempting a comeback at this point seems far-fetched. Four instances of a blood clot in his right forearm have derailed the right-hander's career, with the first incident coming in August of 2016 and the fourth in March of last year at spring training. A compression spot was detected in his forearm while undergoing an ultrasound exam last September, and surgery was done to clean up scar tissue and shave "down away all the area that was compressing up against the artery." "I'm not really in a rush to pick up a ball again in the near term and give it another go," Oberg said.
