5 years agoCincinnati Reds second baseman Scooter Gennett (groin) is taking batting practice and ground balls on Friday. Gennett has been out all season long and will likely need a lengthy rehab assignment before returning, so he's not exactly close to a return yet. The 29-year-old has hit a combined 40 home runs the last two seasons for the Reds and had a .310/.357/.490 slash line in 153 games last season. Gennett will return to starting second base duties when he's eventually ready to return and should be held in all formats.
