Scooter Gennett Goes 1-For-4 In Return
5 years agoCincinnati Reds second baseman Scooter Gennett (groin) was activated from the injured list on Friday and went 1-for-4 with a strikeout in his season debut against the Cubs. Catcher Tucker Barnhart (oblique) was put on the injured list in a corresponding move with a right oblique strain. Barnhart hasn't been fantasy relevant while hitting just .191/.290/.315 on the season. Don't be surprised if Gennett is a little cold initially after a long layoff, but his power stroke at the keystone (50 homers in the last two years) will be valuable in all leagues. The Reds will have to get a little more creative with Derek Dietrich's playing time now that Gennett is back in the fold.
