3 years agoMiami Marlins catcher Sandy Leon reached base three times and pitched a scoreless inning in Friday's 9-2 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates. Leon got the start for a resting Jorge Alfaro and went 2-for-3 with a double, a single, a walk, and a run scored. The solid offensive performance left Leon with a .186 batting average and a .486 OPS. He hits like a pitcher, so he took the mound for the eighth inning when the score was 9-2. He ended up pitching a perfect inning, inducing one ground out and two fly outs. Leon was starting for a bit while Alfaro was on the injured list, but he's back to being a backup and even as a starter was not a worthwhile fantasy asset.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller
