Sandy Alcantara Wraps Up His 2021 Season
3 years agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Sandy Alcantara made his last start of the season on Friday in a 5-0 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies. Alcantara tossed five innings, allowing four runs on five hits and a walk while striking out six. He took the loss, ending his season with a 9-15 record and a 3.19 ERA. Alcantara emerged as a true ace this season, and ended up with a solid ERA despite two starts in which he gave up eight and 10 runs without finishing the third inning. Take those starts out (which of course you can't do, but still...) and he has an ERA in the mid-twos. Alcantara should continue to improve next season and will allegedly have a better team around him.
