Sandy Alcantara Takes A Loss Against Chicago
6 years agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Sandy Alcantara took the loss against the Cubs, bringing his season record to 2-2. The 23-year-old pitched six innings on Wednesday night, giving up seven hits and five runs while striking out seven in the 4-0 defeat to Chicago. Though Alcantara logged two straight wins while sporting an adequate 1.50 ERA to begin the year, he has struggled over his last two outings, giving up 20 hits and 11 runs during that span. With run support likely to be an issue throughout the remainder of the season, the righty will have to fight for wins, with the only positive likely coming from his ability to get K's. Things aren't looking good for him for his next time on the mound, as he will be going up against the offensively-sound, red-hot Phillies at Citizens Bank Park.
