Sandy Alcantara Shut Down For Season
2 years agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Sandy Alcantara (rest) has been shut down for the remainder of the season, according to manager Don Mattingly. The Cy Young candidate was originally scheduled to pitch next Wednesday against the Braves, but the team decided to shut him down early. Alcantara ends the year with a 14-9 record, 2.28 ERA, 0.98 WHIP, and 207:50 K:BB ratio over an astounding 228 ⅔ IP. Alcantara should be one of the first pitchers drafted next year, especially in points leagues where his volume puts him a step above everyone else.
