Sandy Alcantara Shows Ace Upside On Tuesday
4 years agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Sandy Alcantara showed all the makings of an ace in Tuesday's start against the St. Louis Cardinals. Alcantara pitched six innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on four hits and two walks while striking out 10. Alcantara had all 10 strikeouts through five scoreless innings before things started to fall apart a bit in the sixth. He was still able to make it through the inning and secure a quality start, but unfortunately, the Marlins offense squandered repeated opportunities to score and Sandy ended up taking a loss. He'll be back on the mound against the Braves for his next start.
