Sandy Alcantara Allows Five Runs In Game 1
4 years agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Sandy Alcantara pitched extremely well for the first six innings of Tuesday's first game of the National League Division Series. Alcantara was sent back in for the seventh inning to face the Braves order for the fourth time, an unbelievably bad move by manager Don Mattingly in a year full of them. He'll still win Manager of the Year, though. Alcantara struck out eight, allowing a total of five runs and eight hits in six plus innings. He should have had a quality start, and the Marlins might have even won this game, but Mattingly had a different idea in mind.
