San Francisco Giants pitcher Sammy Long (back) threw a successful bullpen session on Friday. He was placed on the 10-day injured list July 4 with a mild-lower back strain. It's unclear when the southpaw will return, but he is expected to begin a rehab assignment shortly. The 26-year-old owned a 5.63 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, and a 9.4 K/9 across 24 innings in 2021.
