Sam Howell Leads Commanders To Win In First Career Start
2 years agoWashington Commanders quarterback Sam Howell completed 11-of-19 passes for 169 yards with one touchdown and one interception along with five carries for 35 yards and a touchdown on the ground in Sunday's win over the Dallas Cowboys. The rookie got the nod for the first start of his career in the final week of the regular season, and he showed some promise. Despite not having many passing opportunities, he showed poise and limited mistakes while displaying his ability as a dual threat. Howell appears to be a fan favorite, and with Washington's plans at the quarterback position being a mystery, he could end up becoming the starter next season. While that feels like forever from this point, Howell is an intriguing name to monitor in the offseason.
