Ryon Healy Diagnosed With Spinal Stenosis
5 years agoSeattle Mariners first baseman/third baseman Ryon Healy (back), who has been on the injured list since May 21, could miss another month after being diagnosed with spinal stenosis. He received an epidural injection on Tuesday. Spinal stenosis is described as a narrowing of the spine. Manager Scott Servais said Healy could miss another three or four weeks, and Healy doesn't want to rush his return. The good news for Healy is that he should see regular playing time when he returns now that both Jay Bruce and Edwin Encarnacion have been traded. The 27-year-old is hitting only .237 on the season but had seven homers, 23 runs and 26 RBI at the time of his injury.
