Ryan Yarbrough Strikes Out Four On Wednesday
4 years agoTampa Bay Rays pitcher Ryan Yarbrough struck out four batters in 3 1/3 scoreless innings of work against the Yankees on Wednesday. In his second appearance against the Yankees this season, Yarbrough limited them to just two hits once again, as he has allowed just one run on four hits and two walks with eight strikeouts in 8 1/3 innings against New York this year. Over his last five appearances now, Yarbrough has a 2.63 ERA, 1.125 WHIP and 22 percent strikeout rate in 24 innings of work. He's been much better this year working behind an opener (2-0, 1.00 ERA, 23.6 K%) than when he starts (0-3, 6.75 ERA, 15.5 K%), so he could be considered a potential streaming option when he pitches behind an opener.
