Ryan Jeffers Slugs Fifth Home Run
3 years agoMinnesota Twins catcher Ryan Jeffers had a two-hit day, including a two-run homer, in a 10-7 loss to the Cincinnati Reds Tuesday. Jeffers gave the Twins the lead with a two-run shot off of Wade Miley, then added a single to cap off his fifth multi-hit game of the month. All five of Jeffers' home runs have come in June, as he has assumed the starting catcher role with Mitch Garver (groin) sidelined. Garver has resumed baseball activities, though it seems like Jeffers will stay with the big club even with a healthy Garver back, considering how well the former has performed.
