Ryan Jeffers Putting Together Strong Campaign
11 months agoMinnesota Twins catcher Ryan Jeffers went 1-for-3 on Tuesday versus the Chicago White Sox. Jeffers lone hit was a single, but he has quietly been putting together a strong campaign behind the dish. The 26-year-old is hitting .295 and has five homers with 17 RBI. Managers couldn't ask for more from behind the dish and Jeffers is delivering it at a much lower price than other top tier catchers. The backstop hasn't been hitting the ball hard and his average exit velocity is a weak 83.9, so managers should expect a regression in the future. Despite that, Jeffers makes good contact with nice pop in his bat, so he should continue to be valuable throughout the season. Jeffers should remain rostered in most 10-team leagues moving forward.

Ryan Jeffers Retreats To The Bench
7 months agoMinnesota Twins catcher Ryan Jeffers will head to the bench ahead of Monday's game against the Atlanta Braves. Jeffers returned to the lineup on Sunday after leaving Friday's game due to a right hand injury. It's uncertain if Jeffers suffered a setback or if he's just getting a rest day on Monday. Regardless, Christian Vazquez will do the catching and bat seventh against left-hander Max Fried. Vazquez hasn't been much of a fantasy option this season. Through 75 games, Vazquez is hitting .231 with seven home runs and 27 RBI this season. Fantasy managers should be able to find a better streaming option ahead of Monday's game. It sounds like a rest day for Jeffers, but fantasy managers should check back for another update.

Ryan Jeffers Returning To The Lineup
7 months agoMinnesota Twins catcher Ryan Jeffers (hand) is back in the starting lineup ahead of Sunday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals. The right-handed slugger is back in the mix after missing Saturday's contest due to a right hand issue. It looks like his absence was for precautionary reasons and he should be fine going forward. Jeffers will bat fifth and do the catching against right-hander Erick Fedde on Sunday. The 27-year-old doesn't hit for average, but his 20 home runs and 59 RBIs make him a solid fantasy asset.

Ryan Jeffers Continues To Show Power
7 months agoMinnesota Twins catcher Ryan Jeffers went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's loss versus the San Diego Padres. The power hitting catcher now has 20 homers on the season to go along with 59 RBI and a .233 batting average in 326 at-bats. Jeffers has now homered three times over his last 15 at-bats as his power continues to surge. Despite his ability to go yard, he has been in a pretty even timeshare for most of the season with backstop Christian Vazquez. Because of his inconsistent play, Jeffers is hard to recommend on a daily basis in one-catcher leagues, but he is worth rostering in two-catcher formats.

Ryan Jeffers Homers In Victory Saturday Over White Sox
8 months agoMinnesota Twins catcher Ryan Jeffers homered Saturday in a 6-2 win over the Chicago White Sox. Jeffers hit his 16th homer in the second inning off ace Garrett Crochet. The veteran backstop is now hitting .233 with 16 home runs, 51 RBI, three stolen bases and 40 runs scored. Jeffers has homered in two of his last three games for the Twins and should continue to see regular at-bats for a team fighting for a playoff spot in the AL Central.
