Ryan Brasier Recalled By Red Sox On Tuesday
3 years agoThe Boston Red Sox called up relief pitcher Ryan Brasier from Triple-A prior to Tuesday's game against the New York Mets. The team sent fellow reliever Garrett Whitlock (pectoral) to the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move. Brasier has made just five appearances for the Red Sox this year and he has a 4.15 ERA and a 2.54 WHIP. Whitlock was one of the team's top setup men. Brasier likely won't see high-leverage work going forward. Hansel Robles, Josh Taylor and Garrett Richards figure to be the team's primary high-leverage arms in front of the team's primary closer Adam Ottavino.
