Ryan Brasier Completes The Save Sunday
2 years agoWith Kenley Jansen and John Schreiber pitching back-to-back days, the Boston Red Sox turned to right-hander Ryan Brasier for the ninth inning to protect a 2-1 lead during Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Angels. He threw a successful frame, allowing no runs or hits and striking out one to earn his first save of the season. Brasier now owns a 4.82 ERA with eight strikeouts and four walks across 9.1 innings so far in 2023. The 35-year-old struggled a season ago, posting a 5.78 ERA, although his 24.3% strikeout rate and 3.61 FIP were much more impressive. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect many saves the rest of the way from Brasier, but if he improves his numbers, he should be in line for a handful of holds.
