Ryan Borucki Expected To Make MLB Debut Tuesday
7 years agoWith Toronto Blue Jays starting pitchers Aaron Sanchez (finger) and Jaime Garcia (shoulder) both on the disabled list, the team needs to fill a void in their rotation (Marcus Stroman’s return filled one of the spots). As such, the team sounds likely to turn to Ryan Borucki for Tuesday’s game against the Houston Astros, calling him up from Triple-A Buffalo. While the Astros represent quite the test for any pitcher (and not just a pitcher making his Major League debut), Borucki has had a solid year in Triple-A. Across 13 starts and 77 innings pitched, Borucki owns a 3.27 ERA and 1.17 WHIP with 58 strikeouts to 28 walks. The K/9 (6.78) and K/BB ratio (2.07) is far from ideal, but if he can put up a decent ERA, that’s all you can really ask for as a short-term rotation replacement. Borucki won’t carry any fantasy value.

Ryan Borucki Expected To Return This Year
7 months agoPittsburgh Pirates general manager Ben Cherington reiterated that he is confident that left-hander Ryan Borucki (triceps) will return this season. Borucki started a minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A Indianapolis on Aug. 17 and has made three appearances, allowing a run in three innings of work. He had his first rehab assignment shut down in July after feeling symptoms in his left forearm and elbow but started throwing again after receiving an injection in early August. The 30-year-old veteran reliever should be able to rejoin Pittsburgh's bullpen for the final month of the season, but he's completely off the fantasy radar. Borucki has only appeared in four games for the Bucs in relief in 2024 and has allowed two earned runs on four hits while walking none and striking out six batters in 3 1/3 innings.

Cubs, Ryan Borucki Agree On Minor-League Contract
2 years agoThe Chicago Cubs and left-handed pitcher Ryan Borucki are reportedly "in agreement on a minor-league contract," according to a tweet from FanSided's Robert Murray on Wednesday morning. Murray tweeted the following: "Left-hander Ryan Borucki is in agreement on a minor-league contract with the Chicago Cubs, source said. Borucki, 28, posted a 4.26 ERA in 21 games with the Mariners last season after five years with the Blue Jays." A relief pitcher for each of the past three seasons, Borucki will provide the Cubs with some additional bullpen depth heading into next season. At the moment, the only left-handed bullpen options on Chicago's 40-man roster are Brandon Hughes and Anthony Kay.

Ryan Borucki Traded To The Mariners
3 years agoThe Seattle Mariners traded infielder Tyler Keenan to Toronto Blue Jays for pitcher Ryan Borucki. He was designated for assignment by the Blue Jays on Tuesday but ultimately was dealt to Seattle on Saturday. The 28-year-old owns a 9.95 ERA and 1.89 WHIP with eight strikeouts over 6 1/3 innings in 2022. Mike Ford was designated for assignment by the Mariners in a corresponding move. Borucki doesn't have much fantasy value and is buried on the closer depth chart behind Paul Sewald, Andres Munoz, Diego Castillo, and Sergio Romo.
