Ryan Blaney Has Las Vegas Disqualification Rescinded
1 year agoNASCAR announced on Monday that Ryan Blaney's disqualification from the South Point 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Sunday has been rescinded. This gives Blaney credit for a sixth-place finish in the race and he was also awarded back the Stage points that he earned during the event. Initially, competition officials ruled that the front-left shock of Blaney's No. 12 Ford did not meet hte overall specified length outlined in Section 14.11.3.5 of the NASCAR Rule Book. The sanctioning body made the following statement on Monday: "NASCAR then conducted a detailed investigation and has restored the No. 12's stage and race finishing positions from Sunday. NASCAR has taken internal steps to remedy this issue moving forward." This decision helps Blaney's Championship chances dramatically, as he is now only 16 points below the cut line.
