Royce Lewis Homers In Return From Injured List
6 months agoMinnesota Twins third baseman Royce Lewis returned from the injured list on Tuesday and hit a home run. Lewis was 1-for-1 with two walks to go along with his solo shot. A day before his 25th birthday, Lewis moved to 3-for-3 on the season with two home runs. The homer came off New York Yankees reliever Tommy Kahnle to cut the Yankee lead to 3-1. Lewis batted fifth on Tuesday after hitting third in his only other game, on Opening Day. The California native played in his 72nd career game, connecting on his 19th home run. That equates to 41 homers over a 162-game average. Even if Lewis were to stay healthy, he'd be hard-pressed to accumulate that total in a season, but he's shown his power is legitimate.
