Royce Lewis Has Grade 2 Oblique Strain
2 years agoMinnesota Twins infielder Royce Lewis (oblique) has been diagnosed with a Grade 2 left-oblique strain, according to manager Rocco Baldelli. The typical recovery timeline for that injury is around six weeks. Lewis has a long recovery ahead of him and might not make it back to the Twins until the middle of August, barring a setback along the way. The 24-year-old continues to be set back by injuries, as he didn't make his season debut until late May due to his second torn ACL. He's only played in 26 games this year, but he was hitting .326 (31-for-95) with four home runs, 15 RBI and 11 runs scored in 99 plate appearances before his oblique strain. The Twins recently called up Jose Miranda from the minors, and he figures to see plenty of playing time at the hot corner until further notice.
