Royce Freeman Continues to Shine
6 years agoYou've likely heard of Saquon Barkley, Sony Michel and Nick Chubb, but it's an unheralded rookie running by the name of Royce Freeman who may emerge from the pack with the most productive rookie campaign. The Denver Broncos rookie followed up his four-carry, 38-yard, touchdown preseason debut with six carries for 20 yards - including a four-yard TD run in which he showcased some impressive vision, elusiveness and power - Saturday night against the Bears. Now averaging 5.8 yards per carry, Freeman is hot on Devontae Booker's heels in pursuit of the Broncos starting RB role and based on fantasy points allowed in 2017, the Broncos have one of the more favorable schedules for backs. He may lose some work on passing downs, but Freman figures to be busy around the goal line and looks to be a solid RB2 option who you'll find at a discount on draft day, as he's currently being drafted in the sixth round (ADP of 51).
