Royals Sign Homer Bailey
6 years agoThe Kansas City Royals signed free-agent starting pitcher Homer Bailey to a minor league deal with an invite to spring training on Saturday. Bailey had spent his whole career with the Reds until he was sent to the Dodgers in the trade involving outfielder Yasiel Puig this offseason. The Dodgers then released the oft-injured veteran. He might have a chance to crack KC's rebuilding roster, but fantasy owners should stay far away from him after he went 1-14 with a 6.09 ERA, 1.64 WHIP and 75 strikeouts in 20 starts (106 1/3 innings) in his last season in Cincy. Bailey has also mostly been injured the last three seasons and hasn't had an ERA under 5.00 since 2014.
