2 years agoThe Kansas City Royals acquired right-hander Albert Abreu from the Texas Rangers on Thursday in exchange for right-hander Yohanse Morel. Abreu will be added to the Royals 40-man roster in a corresponding move announced at a later date. The Rangers designated Abreu for assignment earlier in the week after he allowed three earned runs on four hits while striking out nine and walking 12 in just 8 2/3 relief appearances at the major league level this year. The 26-year-old has walked 15.8% of the hitters he's faced in 46 2/3 relief innings in the majors over the last three seasons, so he might not last with the Royals for long if that continues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
